ARTS 1311: Emphasis

In my 2D design class, we have been focusing on emphasis. The past few weeks has been a focus on how to incorporate all of the elements of design (line, space, texture, etc.) into a design that works. Using the principles of design will help to create balance, harmony, emphasis etc. All of these principles of design are important when trying to create a design that will have a lasting impact with the audience.

We were to create a repeating pattern and use an element of design to draw attention to one object. I used color.

We were to use a design that we had created earlier in the semester and add emphasis to part of the design. I used value to draw attention to the center of the design.
