RSVP Count

Well, our RSVP date was yesterday and we still have a lot of outstanding RSVPs out there. I'm hoping that we'll be getting more this week, but it looks like I get to start calling and emailing people that have yet to respond. So far, our counts stand as such:

Total Invited: 165
Accepts with pleasure: 85
Declines with regrets: 11
Still undecided: 69

Is it June yet?

I know with 20 days until the wedding, I should be working on wedding related things, but I can't help it. I'm stuck thinking about my upcoming haircut.

I have my appointment set up for mid June to get a pixie cut because I'm tired of having to deal with my hair all the time. I'm tired of spending hours and hours working on my hair. I'm tired of the split ends, dying it, the limpness, and the boringness. I've already talked with a couple friends about my upcoming 'do and most people are shocked and excited. I'm thinking something like Keira Knightley's cut

But I'm also inspired by Audrey Hepburn, Twiggy, Victoria Beckham and Natalie Portman. 

Now, my only problem is, how do I learn how to style it? I've had long hair for years and years and years, is it going to be difficult for me to relearn how to style my hair? Does anyone have any thoughts about styling a pixie cut for a first timer? I guess its just one of the things I'll have to talk about when I get it cut!

Deathly Hallows: Part I

I am so excited! Today, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I comes out on DVD/Blue Ray! I've had mine reordered for months and I can't wait to watch it again! I've been tracking it on UPS, it should arrive sometime today. I had it delivered to work just to make sure I was able to get it today.

And yes, there is a possibility that this is the reason I decided to come to work today.

Its Playoff Season!!

Even thought the Stars aren't in it any more, I'm still really excited that it's playoff season. I haven't really picked anyone in particular that I'm hoping wins the Stanley Cup, just as long as it's not the Red Wings or the Blackhawks. Maybe I'll root for the Sabres... Yeah, I think I'll root for the Sabres this year.

I'm bored with my hair

I know with everything else I should be working on, my hair should be the least of my concerns right now. But I can't help it. I've been bored with my hair for close to a year, and I know exactly what I want to do. I just didn't want to do anything too drastic before the wedding.

Since I've decided to do it, I have my appointment scheduled in mid-June, I think I'll share it here.

That's right. I'm going to do a pixie cut. I'm so freaking excited!! What do you guys think? Too drastic?

Another week has gone by and our RSVP's are slowly coming in. Very, very slowly. So far, this is our count:

Since I'm checking the mail every day, it is a bit discouraging to see that there's one or two in there. So come on people! Send them back!

Favors: Part I

Wedding favors are the type of thing that people will either think are really cute or really dumb. I've noticed that when a couple decides to go with an edible favor, guests seem to like that better than some cutesy little nick-knack. So Austin and I decided to do little boxes of chocolates and miniature wine bottles.We both love wine, and who doesn't like chocolate??

I was able to find all of the boxes for the chocolates several months ago and I've just had them sitting in a box with other wedding related items until is was time to actually start putting them together. A couple weeks ago, I ordered personalized M&M's with our names, date and two pictures on them. I was able to get them in our wedding colors, so I was pretty excited about that little bit of personalization. I've been working on them for about three days now after work and they're done! It was a process and very tedious, but they look super cute! At least, I think so.

Programs

I've been trying to decide for a couple weeks whether it was actually worth my time to make the programs myself. I've had them all typed up for a couple weeks now, I just couldn't decide how I wanted them to be printed. I had bought all of the paper months ago in anticipation that I would actually be the one to do them all, but with all of the last minute details I've been working on, I wasn't sure if it would all just be too much at the last minute.

Well, I decided to suck it up and do them myself. I already bought the paper, why waste it?! And I didn't really want to have to spend an extra $250 on programs.

I bought a couple packs of the HP Brochure Paper in order to give them a more professional look and I didn't want to use something as thick as cardstock or as flimsy as regular paper. Next up, create a basic MS Word document and create two columns. After that, just input any information you might want to include! I think they ended up coming out quite nicely!

Now to finish printing another 100 of them or so and I'll be able to check one more thing off of my to-do list!!

I know that is really not a bad start, especially since our RSVP date isn't until April 25th, but I'm still stalking our mailbox always hoping for more.
